1. Introduction and Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is a legally binding agreement between Wondrhost ("we," "us," or "our") and you, the customer ("you," "your," or "User"). This document governs the acceptable and prohibited uses of all Wondrhost services, including but not limited to Mini Hosting, Shared Web Hosting, Cloud Hosting, Managed WordPress Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Master/Alpha Reseller Hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Dedicated Servers, and Software Licenses.
The primary purpose of this AUP is to ensure the security, reliability, and privacy of our network and systems, and to provide a high-quality hosting environment for all our customers. By accessing or utilizing any Wondrhost service, you explicitly agree to comply with this AUP in its entirety.
Strict Enforcement Notice:
Wondrhost reserves the sole and absolute right to determine what constitutes a violation of this AUP. Any violation may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, services, and data without prior notice. Accounts terminated due to AUP violations are strictly ineligible for any refunds, including the 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee.
2. Illegal, Harmful, and Prohibited Content
You may not use Wondrhost’s network, servers, or services to publish, transmit, distribute, host, or store content that is illegal under applicable local, state, national, or international law. Prohibited content and activities include, but are not limited to:
- Child Exploitation & CSAM: Any content depicting, encouraging, promoting, or relating to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or the exploitation of minors. Wondrhost maintains a zero-tolerance policy and will immediately terminate the account and report the user to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement agencies.
- Terrorism & Violence: Content that promotes, encourages, facilitates, or provides instructions on terrorism, physical violence, self-harm, or the creation of weapons.
- Phishing, Fraud, & Scams: Hosting fake login pages (phishing), fraudulent websites, High-Yield Investment Programs (HYIP), Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, or any attempt to extract personal, financial, or credential data deceptively.
- Malware & Malicious Code: Distributing, hosting, or linking to viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, keyloggers, or executing scripts designed to compromise system security, steal data, or disrupt network operations.
- Copyright & Trademark Infringement: Hosting pirated software (warez), nulled WordPress themes or plugins, unauthorized audio/video streaming, torrent trackers, or violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or other intellectual property laws.
- Defamation & Harassment: Content that is excessively defamatory, harassing, abusive, or constitutes a credible threat to individuals or organizations.
3. Network Abuse and System Security
Users are strictly prohibited from utilizing Wondrhost infrastructure to compromise the security of any other network, host, server, or account. Prohibited security violations include:
- Denial of Service (DDoS): Initiating, participating in, or intentionally attracting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. If your server is frequently targeted by DDoS attacks due to high-risk activities, we reserve the right to null-route your IP or terminate your service to protect the wider network.
- Port Scanning & Vulnerability Probing: Executing unauthorized network monitoring, port scanning, packet sniffing, or vulnerability scanning software against our network or any external network.
- Unauthorized Access (Hacking): Attempting to access systems, data, or accounts to which you do not have explicitly granted access, or attempting to breach security authentication measures.
- Anonymizers, Proxies, & VPNs: Operating public proxy servers, TOR exit nodes, or VPNs intended for public use that generate abuse complaints or mask illegal activities. (Private, personal-use VPNs on VPS/Dedicated servers are permitted provided they do not violate other AUP terms).
4. Zero Tolerance Anti-Spam Policy
Wondrhost maintains a strict Zero Tolerance policy towards Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) or "SPAM". Sending bulk spam emails severely damages our server IP reputation, causes blacklisting, and negatively impacts email deliverability for all clients on our network.
- Prohibited Actions: You may not use Wondrhost servers to send unsolicited bulk emails, newsletter blasts to unverified or purchased lists, or marketing emails without clear, functional opt-out mechanisms (must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and GDPR).
- Purchased Lists: Operating "Safe lists," "Opt-in" lists, or purchasing email lists and sending bulk mail to them is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether the list seller claims they are "opt-in."
- Consequences of Spamming: If your hosting account, Reseller account, or VPS is found to be the source of SPAM, or causes our IP addresses to be blacklisted (e.g., on Spamhaus, Spamcop, Barracuda), your account will be immediately suspended. Wondrhost reserves the right to assess a clean-up and unlisting fee of up to ₹5,000 (or $60 USD) to your account.
5. Resource Usage & "Unlimited" Fair Use Policy
To ensure optimal performance, stability, and fairness for all clients, shared hosting environments (Mini, Web, Cloud, WordPress, Reseller, Master/Alpha Reseller) are subject to strict resource limitations managed by CloudLinux LVE.
5.1 Definition of "Unlimited" and "Unmetered"
Where Wondrhost advertises "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" bandwidth, disk space, or email accounts, it refers to usage within the normal, expected boundaries of a functioning personal or small business website. It is not an invitation to use the server for massive file distribution, enterprise-level data warehousing, or media streaming.
5.2 Prohibited Resource Usage on Shared Platforms
On any Shared, Reseller, or Cloud platform, you may not:
- File Storage & Backups: Use your hosting space primarily as a remote storage facility, backup repository, or file-sharing hub. Hosting large ISOs, media archives, personal computer backups, or utilizing the server as a "cloud drive" is prohibited.
- Background Processes: Run continuous background processes, bots, IRC daemons, or cron jobs with intervals shorter than 5 minutes.
- Resource Exhaustion: Consume excessive CPU, RAM, or Disk I/O that negatively impacts other users on the shared node. Accounts consistently hitting their CloudLinux LVE limits will be throttled or suspended, and asked to upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated Server.
- Inode Limits: Exceed the allocated Inode (file count) limit for your specific plan. An excessive number of files degrades file system performance.
- Database Abuse: Run intensive, unoptimized database queries that lock up or crash the shared MySQL/MariaDB server. Databases should be used for website content, not as massive data analytics warehouses.
Strictly Prohibited: Cryptocurrency Mining
Running cryptocurrency mining scripts, nodes, or software (e.g., Bitcoin, Monero, Chia) is strictly forbidden across all Wondrhost services, including Shared Hosting, VPS, and Dedicated Servers. Mining causes extreme hardware degradation and power consumption. Detection of mining activity will result in immediate, permanent account termination without refund.
6. Specific Service Responsibilities
6.1 VPS and Dedicated Servers
Clients utilizing Unmanaged VPS or Bare Metal Dedicated Servers are granted root access and are solely responsible for the security, updating, patching, and content hosted on their machines. If a VPS or Dedicated Server is compromised due to poor security practices and is subsequently used for outbound attacks (e.g., DDoS, Spamming), Wondrhost will null-route (block) the IP address and suspend the server until the client resolves the security breach.
6.2 Reseller, Master, and Alpha Reseller Accounts
Resellers are entirely responsible for the actions, content, and resource usage of their sub-clients. If a sub-client violates this AUP, Wondrhost reserves the right to suspend the specific sub-account directly. If a Reseller fails to actively police their network, resulting in repeated abuse complaints or IP blacklisting, Wondrhost may suspend or terminate the entire Master/Reseller account.
6.3 Software Licenses
Wondrhost provides both official and shared (budget-friendly) software licenses. Attempting to reverse engineer, decode, bypass, or maliciously manipulate our shared licensing scripts or authentication servers is a direct violation of this AUP. Bypassing license restrictions will result in the permanent revocation of the license, IP banning, and account termination without refund.
7. Enforcement, Suspension, and Termination Process
Wondrhost employs automated monitoring tools (such as Imunify360, CXS, and network-level firewalls) alongside manual review by our abuse team to enforce this AUP.
- Investigation: Upon receiving an abuse complaint (e.g., DMCA notice, Spamhaus alert) or detecting an anomaly internally, Wondrhost will investigate. During this time, we may temporarily restrict or suspend the targeted service to prevent further harm to the network.
- Notification & Resolution: Whenever possible and appropriate, Wondrhost will open a support ticket to notify you of the AUP violation and request that you resolve it within a specified timeframe (e.g., removing a compromised WordPress plugin or deleting copyrighted material).
- Termination: Severe violations (e.g., hosting Phishing sites, CSAM, intentional DDoS, Crypto-mining, severe Spamming) will result in immediate, permanent termination of the account, deletion of all hosted data, and forfeiture of any right to a refund.
8. Data Backup Responsibility
While Wondrhost provides automated backups on certain plans (e.g., via JetBackup), you agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining independent, off-site backups of your data. Wondrhost is not liable for any data loss resulting from hardware failure, account suspension due to AUP violations, or accidental deletion.
9. Contact Information and Abuse Reporting
If you witness a violation of this Acceptable Use Policy originating from a Wondrhost IP address, please forward all relevant logs, URLs, email headers, and evidence to our dedicated abuse team.
